In his current artistic phase, each one of his works combines oil paints with vestiges, materials, and items taken mainly from the mining and steel-industry decline suffered by the Biscay region. When asked, he says that the material reliefs attached back-to-back with the landscape where they were once used gives them ‘a new imaginary life’ and they acquire the role of prima donna in the work.
